Subaquatic dream

This illustration started out as a simple character design that I intended to turn into a 3D model, but half-way through I changed my mind as I thought the image had too much potential to not get as much detail and care as it needed, and this is the result.
I'm very happy with the balance the whole image has, and how the colours seem to work together in the end as I was pretty worried prior to adding the background that it all looked too dull.
